Visit Torquay for the Ultimate Halloween Experience

10 October 2017 | 1 comments

If you haven’t already booked your Torquay holiday accommodation and want to spend Halloween in the area, now would be a good time to do it. Most Torquay holiday apartments are full to brimming at this time of the year because the English Riviera really knows how to party with scary witches, spooky ghosts and haunting ghouls.

Here are 4 top venues for you and your family to have the best Halloween ever:

  1. Greenway

Once the holiday home of Agatha Christie, and now owned by the National Trust, you can expect a mysterious and magical Halloween experience here.  The event is witch and wizard, magical trail themed and fancy dress is a must!  No need to get a mask unless you want to because there will be face painting available. Children will have a fantastic time on the trail, listening to enchanting tales and having magical adventures.

  1. Bygones

This is a great Victorian themed day out for adults and particularly children who are encouraged to arrive in the scariest costumes they can find.  There will be a treasure hunt where children can track down the ghost of a Bygone era.  They will be collecting mini skeletons and kids who find all of them will be rewarded with a Halloween prize.  Adults will be able to participate in solving a murder, in true “Who Dunnit” style, when a body is found in the parlour.

Bear in mind that the latest you can arrive on any day is 5pm as doors close at 6pm when the event ends.  Visit their website for more details and prices of tickets or drop in if you are in the area.  Bygones on Fore Street, St Marychurch, Torquay TQ1 4PR or call 01803 326108

  1. Riviera International Conference Centre

A massive Halloween children’s party that just gets bigger and better every year, fancy dress is essential if you want to join in all the fun.  There will be competitions for the spookiest costumes, lots of games, disco music and sumptuous food. Parents can relax in the bar whilst the kids have the time of their lives.  You must book in advance for this event by calling 01803 206333 or visiting the Riviera Conference Centre website, where you can find more information and directions. Ticket prices vary depending on whether you want a meal or not.

  1. Dinosaur World

Family fun days exploring the prehistoric creatures at Torquay Dinosaur World are always great but over half term, the lights will be switched off at 2:30pm. The already fearsome dinosaurs will have ghouls and ghosts with them and everyone can rescue the creatures by participating in a Halloween quiz by torchlight. If you want to take part you will need to get there before 3pm. For more details about this exciting Halloween event and to buy tickets click here, or call 01803 2987

The English Riviera is historically busy over Halloween. If you want to visit Torquay, don’t leave it too late to book your holiday accommodation. If you are finding it difficult because all holiday apartments are fully booked, try Bedford Holiday apartments in nearby Paignton, which is within easy reach of this Halloween experience.
